Wisconsin’s Potawatomi Casino To Add Poker Room and Sportsbook
In a recent announcement, Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee, under the leadership of CEO Dominic Ortiz, unveiled the official opening date for its highly sportsbook and poker room—scheduled for May 3. This occasion marks the completion of the $190 million renovation project, with the sportsbook standing as the crowning jewel.
The Wisconsin casino is gearing up to introduce a cutting-edge Vegas-style sportsbook and an impressive 14-table poker room, both nestled within the former Northern Lights Theater area.
The sportsbook, boasting 6,500 square feet of dedicated space, promises a dynamic sports betting experience.
This upscale venue will span two floors, featuring a 2,000-square-foot LED screen, a state-of-the-art broadcast booth equipped with a professional three-camera system, and an array of more than 20 TVs, with some reaching 98 inches in size.
With a seating capacity exceeding 200, the establishment is set to cater to every stripe of casino gaming enthusiasts, offering convenient kiosks and ticket writers.
Embracing variety, the poker room is set to introduce an array of engaging games, including the popular Texas Hold’em, 1-3 No-Limit, 2-5 No-Limit, and the strategic Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO).
Furthermore, the poker room is set to elevate the gaming experience by incorporating delectable food and beverage services from its adjacent sportsbook, featuring a selection of over 40 beers on tap.
The casino is committed to maintaining its atmosphere by continuing to host promotions, including the popular Hourly High Hand Jackpots and Bad Beat Jackpots.
In a statement to various new sources, Sean Cullen, the director of the sportsbook at Potawatomi Casino Hotel, expressed his confidence about what’s coming. According to Cullen, the newly established venue boasts unparalleled sophistication among retail betting spaces beyond Las Vegas.
Cullen added that holding the position as the second-highest-grossing sportsbook in the nation among publicly reported counterparts, the property’s 75 existing kiosks have firmly established the casino’s standing as a formidable player in the industry.
In January 2023, Potawatomi Casino Hotel unveiled plans to enhance its sports betting offerings by introducing kiosks, and replacing existing venues. By March, the casino secured a multi-channel sports betting partnership with Kambi Group, leading to the opening of a temporary ground-floor space dedicated to sports betting.
In September, the third floor of the hotel was renovated. The casino then announced the upcoming launch of a new retail sportsbook as part of its $190 million renovation project, scheduled for spring or summer 2024.
