Well-Known iGaming Industry Brand GiG Media Announces Rebranding to Gentoo Media
GiG Media announced on June 18 that it has undergone a full rebranding process and will now operate under the Gentoo Media brand. On its LinkedIn page, the company boasted of having a “new logo, look and feel!”
Their announcement went on to explain that while the name has changed, the team would stay the same. The same applies to the well-known and widely recognized GiG Media (now Gentoo Media) products.
Gentoo Media came to the scene with a new promise for future partners – You Get More.
Gaming Innovation Group Company Split in the Works
Gaming Innovation Group has already announced the splitting of its two business sections, with the planned separation scheduled for Q3 of 2024. Both the split and the rebranding reflect GiG’s strong commitment to becoming a leading affiliate business in the industry.
GiG’s CEO, Jonas Warrer, has already commented on the rebranding, calling the new brand “a big milestone” in the process of splitting Gaming Innovation Group and GiG Media. He explained how the new brand had been developed with both employees and partners in mind. Per Warrer’s statement, Gentoo marked “a new era,” and everyone was excited about the business’ prospects.
GiG Board Chairman Mikael Harstad has also commented on the rebranding, calling it “a pivotal moment” and “a vital step.” According to him, the separation of the businesses would increase shareholder value and help both verticals grow independently. Harstad considers the Gentoo launch “a testament” to the company’s dedication to delivering top quality and excellent results.
Great Things Ahead for the Rebel Penguin
Gentoo is a penguin species often referred to as “the cheekiest penguin species.” Unfortunately, its population is decreasing, and it has received the “near threatened” conservation status.
One might wonder what the Gentoo penguin has in common with an iGaming company.
Well, the carefully chosen brand name recognizes the Rebel Penguin Agency, which is part of the Gaming Innovation Group. GiG took over Rebel Penguin in 2017 and added its proprietary technology to its own platform.
It’s evident that while GiG has been meaning to give Gentoo Media a fresh start, the company also found a way to pay tribute to its heritage.
GiG Media (Gentoo Media) has seen very successful operations for the past four years. The company’s reports have revealed record revenues for 13 consecutive quarters supported by sturdy EBITDA margins.
Gentoo’s newly released website also boasted some strong numbers. It revealed that over 300 employees from over 50 nationalities work for the company. Gento Media has four office locations and covers 200 markets.
Many Changes Ahead for GiG and Gentoo
It’s interesting to note that 2024 has already been a very active year for GiG, and even more changes are coming ahead.
Namely, the company adopted the so-called Quality Mark Regulatory Assurance policy for tracking compliance on its products. It also announced plans to launch CoreX and SportX platforms in partnership with GP Gaming. Both products will target European markets initially.
Finally, the company is in the process of acquiring the SEO and content provider Titan. This step clearly demonstrates GiG’s intention to expand its efficiency and strengthen its market position.
