Vegas Casino Resorts Deal With Major Bed Bug Problem
A new health threat and an impending worker strike could impact Las Vegas. While it may seem somewhat ridiculous, Las Vegas faces a bed bug epidemic. The news came after seven Las Vegas Strip resort casinos were confirmed to have bed bugs in their guest rooms.
According to public health records, the existence of this pedicle became clear after running several tests. The allegation, initially reported by a local news source, made numerous references to Circus Circus, one of the top casino resorts in the north of the Strip.
In addition to Circus Circus, other sources uncovered, through a public records request, that bed bugs had been found at six other Strip locations. This was all confirmed over the last 18 months.
Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Palazzo, Tropicana, MGM Grand, and Sahara were among the casino resorts with the highest degree of affectation. To everyone’s surprise, these are the city’s largest and most prominent gaming and hospitality brands.
MGM Resorts International, the owner, and operator of MGM Grand, provided various news sources with a brief statement in response to the submission of the health report. According to the casino’s administration, all staff members were instructed to follow strict protocols to handle and resolve any sanitation issue that arose.
While a bed bug problem may seem like a significant health hazard, other major threats have not gone beyond a simple phase the city has overcome. The city not only made it through the COVID-19 shutdown by demonstrating resilience and proper management.
However, many argue that it emerged from the situation more potent than before the virus wreaked havoc over the entire country. Covid allowed many businesses and organizations to rework their strategies and innovate.
In addition, the Supreme Court’s decision to permit states to legalize sports betting has also benefitted Las Vegas. More specifically, this law code has opened doors for numerous brands in the Las Vegas Strip.
Today, most people view sports betting as commonplace, and most continue to drift away from the view of the practice as unethical. This opened the door for Las Vegas to draw the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball, the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders, and the Golden Knights, an NHL expansion team, to the Strip.
