The Mirage Hotel and Casino, a Las Vegas landmark since 1989, is bidding farewell with a bang. Before its permanent closure on July 17, the casino will hold a massive giveaway, showering a few lucky patrons with a total of $1.6 million in guaranteed winnings.

This isn’t just a generous send-off. Nevada law mandates that casinos disburse unclaimed progressive jackpots before shutting down.

The Mirage’s progressive jackpot pool, accumulated from slot machine and table game play over time, has reached a staggering $1.6 million. To ensure this money finds its way back to gamblers, the casino will dole it out in a series of daily giveaways. From July 9 to 11, guests can participate for a chance to win $200,000 each day.

Then, on July 12 and 13, the prize money is increased to $250,000 per day. The final day, July 16, offers a final opportunity to snag a share of the remaining $100,000.

Separate giveaways will be held for the progressive jackpots accumulated at table games, totaling $400,000. While details on the format of these giveaways haven’t been announced, it’s safe to say there will be ample opportunity for lucky players to win big before The Mirage closes its iconic doors for good.
