Penn Entertainment has officially launched its Hollywood Casino app in Pennsylvania, introducing a comprehensive online gaming platform to complement its physical casino locations across the state. This new standalone app, now live ahead of its anticipated early 2025 release, delivers a robust gaming experience built on Penn’s proprietary technology.

The Hollywood Casino app offers a selection of over 700 online games, including slots, table games, and live dealer options. Users can also enjoy daily promotions and progressive jackpots. To enhance accessibility, the app integrates seamlessly with the ESPN Bet app, allowing players to use the same login credentials for a unified experience across both platforms.

A key feature of the Hollywood Casino platform is its connection to Penn Entertainment’s retail casino brand. Players can explore a virtual casino floor resembling the slot machines and games found at Penn’s physical properties.

Additionally, the app includes exclusive titles developed by Penn’s in-house game studio and links directly to the PENN Play loyalty program, ensuring a cohesive experience for users both online and at brick-and-mortar locations.

Aaron LaBerge, Penn Entertainment’s CTO, expressed excitement about the launch. “We’re excited to launch Hollywood Casino as a stand-alone app in Pennsylvania, giving our customers access to their favorite games in a dedicated, casino-first experience,” he said. “With four Hollywood Casino properties in the state, the app leverages our trusted retail brand and creates a seamless connection between our online and retail gaming experiences.”

Penn Entertainment initially planned to roll out the Hollywood Casino app in Pennsylvania in early 2025. However, its mid-December release surpasses that timeline, underscoring the company’s commitment to rapid innovation.

During a November earnings call, Penn CEO Jay Snowden indicated that other markets, including Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Ontario, are expected to gain access to the app in 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

The relaunch of the Hollywood Casino brand marks Penn’s re-entry into the Pennsylvania iGaming space after discontinuing its previous offering in partnership with IGT last month. The prior platform had achieved a significant share of the market, and the new app aims to build on that success by offering a more dynamic and immersive gaming experience.

With the addition of the Hollywood Casino app, Penn Entertainment strengthens its presence in Pennsylvania, where it operates four physical casinos, including the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course. The company also emphasizes the app’s potential for cross-selling opportunities, bridging the gap between land-based casinos, iGaming, and online sports betting.

Penn’s latest initiative signals a renewed focus on capturing a larger share of the growing online gaming market while maintaining its stronghold in retail casino operations. By combining innovation with brand recognition, Penn Entertainment positions itself as a leader in both spaces.
