Penn Entertainment has added a new layer of security to The L’Auberge Casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with the deployment of Knightscope’s K5 Autonomous Security Robot (ASR). This marks the 10th property to receive the advanced robot under a broader agreement made in 2023 between Penn Entertainment and Knightscope. The deal aims to enhance security measures across Penn’s expansive portfolio, which includes casinos, racetracks, and entertainment venues.

Knightscope’s K5 ASR is part of a larger plan to integrate cutting-edge technology into Penn’s operations. The robot is equipped with an array of security features, including four cameras and 16 microphones, enabling it to patrol areas and monitor activity in real-time, even in low-light conditions. This addition builds on earlier deployments at other Penn Entertainment locations, such as the M Resort Spa Casino in Nevada and the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Iowa.

The Knightscope K5 ASR is designed to function autonomously, patrolling designated areas and using advanced thermal cameras to detect people in restricted spaces. It can also recognize license plates, adding another layer of security to monitor parking lots and other outdoor areas. This sophisticated robot provides real-time feedback to operators, allowing for immediate action if any suspicious activity is detected.

This deployment is part of a larger agreement that will see Knightscope technology rolled out to 43 Penn Entertainment properties across the US. The partnership highlights Penn’s commitment to utilizing innovative solutions to ensure the safety and security of its patrons.
