Palm Springs International Airport To Be Branded After Tribal Casino
A confirmation by local authorities was delivered about Palm Springs International Airport and its new naming convention. In a collaborative announcement on Wednesday, the airport and Agua Caliente Casinos disclosed a new naming rights sponsorship.
The Regional Jet Concourse, commonly referred to as the RJ Concourse, will replace its former title to embrace a new naming convention, the Agua Caliente Concourse.
This modification aligns with the tribal casino brand’s influence, notably overseeing the sole casino operation within Palm Springs city limits. Anticipated to take effect in early 2024, the airport and casino administration are looking forward to finalizing the process.
Housing a total of nine gates, the Regional Jet Concourse has stood as a hub of aviation activity.
The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, stewards of Agua Caliente casinos spanning Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Rancho Mirage, symbolize not just a casino presence but a cultural and economic force in the region.
As the Agua Caliente Concourse emerges, it marks a collaborative stride between the tribal community and the aviation industry, forging a distinctive identity as a result of a strategic partnership.
Agua Caliente Casinos has secured a deal with Palm Springs International Airport involving a payment of $1.433 million.
This agreement covers the naming rights for the Regional Jet Concourse, soon to be known as the Agua Caliente Concourse, along with potential marketing advertising campaigns and activation spaces in specific terminals within the airport.
While the specifics of the activation spaces are still in the planning stage, airport spokesperson Jake Ingrassia emphasized the goal of creating immersive and engaging passenger experiences that highlight Agua Caliente Casino’s tourism and entertainment offerings.
Saverio R. Scheri III, Chief Operating Officer for Agua Caliente Casinos, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its role in making a lasting impression on travelers and providing a platform to showcase the offerings of Agua Caliente.
Airport Executive Director Harry Barrett highlighted the commitment to transforming Palm Springs International Airport into an innovative and industry-leading facility, noting that this announcement is one of many first steps to grow the tie between both industries.
The $1.433 million deal between Agua Caliente Casinos and Palm Springs International Airport coincides with the airport’s record growth in travelers and flights post-COVID-19.
The airport is currently revamping its commercial offerings to feature more local options. This overhaul, slated for completion by the end of next year, aligns with the airport’s goal of enhancing its unique identity.
