The area’s players will live a new experience with this expansion.
PDX Slots collaborates with game developers to bring their content to online casino platforms, helping them optimize their games for regulated operators. The company also focuses on building strategies to improve the return on investment (ROI) for developers.
CEO Chris Housel emphasized the significance of entering Ontario, calling it a key milestone in the company’s broader expansion strategy.
Ontario has emerged as one of the largest iGaming markets in North America, driven by the popularity of online casino games. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) reported $630 million in gross revenue from online casino and sports betting, an increase from $561 million the previous year.
Meanwhile, the province’s private iGaming market saw $64 billion in total wagers and $2.4 billion in gaming revenue during the same period, according to iGaming Ontario.
Casino games, including slots and table games, are the dominant category in Ontario’s iGaming space, accounting for 86% of total wagers and 75% of gaming revenue. Industry data from H2 Gambling Capital reveals that commercial operators hold a 78% market share in Ontario, compared to OLG’s 16% and offshore platforms’ 5%. Among commercial operators, bet365 leads with a 15% share, followed by FanDuel (13%) and Betano (9%).
PDX Slots’ arrival in Ontario is another indicator of the province’s appeal to iGaming companies. With its robust infrastructure and growing customer base, Ontario offers a fertile environment for gaming suppliers and operators alike. On the same day, Vancouver-based Jackpot Digital Inc. also secured an AGCO license, further illustrating the market’s expanding ecosystem.
Ontario’s iGaming industry continues to thrive, and the inclusion of new players like PDX Slots signals opportunities for innovation and growth in the regulated gaming landscape. This development highlights the province’s position as a leading hub for online gambling in North America.
