Ohio is taking the lead in the iGaming industry by bolstering its support for problem gamblers with a bold but equally innovative measure.

Having already broken new ground by becoming the first state in the US to offer free-of-charge gambling software through a collaboration between Time Out Ohio (TOO) and Gamban, the Buckeye State is now taking things a step further to get to the root cause of problem gambling.

Yes, Ohio wants to be at the center of the issue, and in doing so, they have teamed forces with GamFin, a company that weaves together gambling and the financial implications associated with it.

Through tested methodologies, the program is designed to get vulnerable gamblers on the right path, especially if they have any financial concerns surrounding their habits.

Indeed, GamFin’s staff are trained financial experts, and therefore they are well placed to address any money-related queries that problem gamblers may have.

The measure has been brought forward by the Ohio Casino Control which is doing everything in its power to ensure problem gamblers get the help they require.

Discussing the measure on his LinkedIn page, Cory Brown, Manager of Problem Gambling Services at Ohio Casino Control Commission.

He said: “Through a partnership with GamFin, Ohio’s problem gambling clinicians and their clients can receive consultation from financial counselors on the unique financial circumstances of each individual client.

“Questions about money can be overwhelming and uncomfortable, so GamFin can help you carry the load. When financial questions come up during treatment and recovery, GamFin’s financial counselors act as your personal finance subject-matter experts.

“GamFin’s counselors are available both to individual clients and to treatment providers, helping you tackle financial questions and develop solutions to get back on track.”

Ohio can’t be criticized for its unwavering commitment to problem gambling, especially at a time when iGaming has permeated across large swathes of the States.
