Last week, a former cash cage supervisor at the Four Winds Hartford Casino in Michigan appeared on an embezzlement accusation in court. The former casino employee is accused of stealing $700K from the gaming venue. Various media outlets say the missing funds have yet to be found.

The money was reported as missing and later stolen on July 30. The Pokagon Tribal Police Department looked into the theft after informing the authorities. Various testimonies from police authorities have also been considered to support the case.

According to Young´s statement, a suspected caller orchestrated part of the theft. The unidentified caller instructed Young to deliver the money to a place in Gary, Indiana.
The former supervisor then proceeded to withdraw $700,000. She then put all the money in a bag and left the casino. After arriving in Indiana, Young claims to have identified the individual she gave the money.

However, that individual has not yet been arrested. Young alleges that there were more parties involved. Young was later captured in Gary, and right after her capture, she was transferred to Michigan and taken into custody at the Van Buren County Jail on Wednesday. According to various local state sources, Young was accused of embezzling $100,000 or more. This original accusation came from a casino colleague.

A public lawyer requested Young be freed that same Wednesday during her arraignment. The lawyer argued in favor of Young as a person with close connections to the neighborhood and community.

The defense lawyer disclosed that disclosed Young has no criminal record. The 38-year-old has a child and has spent over 16 years working at Four Winds. Additionally, she has family in the area. Young mentioned during her statement that she had a clean criminal record, which she hopes might help her in the coming days as she continues to face the charges.

Now that the investigation is in process, authorities claim Young could spend up to 20 years behind bars if found guilty. According to online jail records, her bond was $1 million. However, throughout the weekend, Young remained in jail.

In her statement, Danika claims to regret the entire situation. She told the judge that casino supervisors are expected to be the most trustworthy employees on the casino staff. Young asserted that she felt deeply sorry and hoped the casino would accept her sincere apologies.
