Jackpocket Becomes First US iGaming Operator To Receive iCAP Certification
Jackpocket Casino, affiliated with the prominent US lottery app Jackpocket, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first iGaming operator in the country to receive the Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) certification.
This certification, overseen by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), represents the highest standard for online responsible gaming in the US.
Jackpocket’s commitment to player safety is evident in various app features, allowing users to set customizable play limits for deposit, spending, playtime and logged-in durations.
This news comes after DraftKings confirmed that it is set to acquire Jackpocket, for an estimated $750 million to establish a presence in the growing digital lottery sector. The move is expected to leverage Jackpocket’s customer acquisition and cross-selling capabilities to enhance DraftKings’ position in sports betting and iGaming.
The merger agreement includes a mix of cash and DraftKings’ Class A common stock for Jackpocket shareholders. The deal anticipates significant value, projecting incremental revenue and Adjusted EBITDA between $260 million to $340 million and $60 million to $100 million by fiscal year 2026.
Both companies are committed to responsible gaming and are members of the National Council on Problem Gambling. This acquisition follows DraftKings’ recent collaboration with the Oregon Lottery for Super Bowl bets.
In securing the iCAP certification, the platform also includes time-out options and self-exclusion features, empowering users to suspend gaming activity for specified periods.
CEO Peter Sullivan emphasizes the company’s dedication to providing a secure and responsible online casino experience, ensuring users can engage with confidence, backed by professional validation from the NCPG.
Jackpocket Casino successfully achieved iCAP certification, a rigorous process involving comprehensive evaluations of its product, website, interviews with management and audits of responsible gaming policies.
Administered by Gambling Integrity, this certification, valid for two years, underscores Jackpocket’s strong commitment to promoting safer gambling practices. The achievement provides confidence to users, investors, regulators and employees.
Keith Whyte, Executive Director of NCPG, lauds Jackpocket Casino for leading in player protection and responsible gambling within the US iGaming sector, establishing a notable industry standard for user safety.
Building on its prior iCAP certification in 2018 as the first lottery courier and winning the NCPG’s 2019 Best Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Jackpocket maintains its proactive stance by securing this iCAP certification for its Jackpocket Casino app.
This accomplishment aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment, especially as it coincides with Problem Gambling Awareness Month in March. Recognizing the broader scope of responsible gaming, Jackpocket ensures seamless integration of NCPG’s website within its app.
This integration offers users convenient access to an array of resources and the direct hotline of NCPG, available 24 hours a day. In times of need, assistance is just a tap away through a call or text message.
