Intralot Secures 5 Year Extension To Manage Wyoming’s Lottery
Intralot, Inc., the American arm of Greece-based global lottery and sports betting technology provider Intralot, has been collaborating with the Wyoming Lottery ever since WyoLotto’s inception in 2014. It can now continue its collaboration with the lottery operator until 2034.
Intralot, Inc. aids the functioning of the Wyoming Lottery by offering its operational system and lottery services. Nikos Nikolakopoulos, the CEO of Intralot, Inc., expressed enthusiasm for broadening the company’s collaboration with the Wyoming Lottery. He emphasized their commitment to assisting the state in delivering an enjoyable and reasonably priced gaming encounter for all individuals.
Nikolakopoulos sees this as an excellent opportunity to reaffirm Intralot’s dedication to offering groundbreaking solutions and unparalleled services. Collaborating intimately with the Wyoming Lottery, he anticipates surpassing current achievements and attaining unprecedented heights of accomplishment.
Jon Clontz, the president of the Wyoming Lottery Corporation, emphasized the indispensable significance of the collaboration between gaming licensees and the gaming industry. In March 2021, the release of 2by2, among other thrilling games, marked a memorable moment for WyoLotto players.
Clontz said in a press release that the organization is confident in establishing a partnership rooted in “trust, transparency, and mutual respect.” He added that Intralot has earned the Wyoming Lottery’s trust through its expertise and unwavering commitment, which has played a significant role in the organization’s history of accomplishments.
Intralot provides a range of options within its lottery product line. These include the versatile LotosX modular solution, the innovative iLottery digital platform, multi-channel enablers, back office tools, business value solutions, and various engaging lottery games.
The company manages lottery operations in several countries, including Ireland, Germany, Greece, and the Philippines. It’s also active across the US in several states, as well as in Washington, DC.
Intralot’s activities have faced some controversy, especially in DC. The company partnered with a local firm, Veterans Services Corp. (VSC), to secure the license there to run the district’s sports betting operations. However, it was later discovered that VSC was only a shell company with a single employee.
DC’s sportsbook never worked as expected and hasn’t produced the revenue district leaders expected – the 2022 revenue was just under $3 million when they thought it would be over $20 million. As a result, with the contract coming up for renewal, there has been a surge in calls for Intralot to be removed.
Discussions are ongoing, and time is running out. Intralot’s contract expires in July of next year.
