Illegal Casino, Brothel in San Jose, CA, Shut Down by Police

The San Jose Police Department has successfully put an end to the operations of an illegal outfit which included a casino and a brothel. Both operations were situated in the city’s 2400 block of Autumnvale Drive.

Police authorities worked on the operation as part of their intensified efforts against illicit activities. During the crackdown, five suspects were apprehended, and a substantial cache of weapons and drugs was uncovered by law enforcement.

This decisive action was carried out through a coordinated effort involving the department’s METRO Unit Officers, who received support from various specialized teams.

The sting operation has proven to be a substantial blow to underground crime activities in the targeted area, reinforcing the commitment of law enforcement to combat illicit enterprises.

The conclusion of a month-long investigation occurred on December 27. The end was marked by a law enforcement operation targeting a site suspected to be a front for illegal activities. The list of illicit activities included gambling, drug sales and prostitution.

San Jose residents Nido Nguyen, 35, Phuong Nguyen, 44, Windie Pratt, 41, Anai Garcia, 24 and Antioch resident Saolepea Liu, 42, were apprehended during the operation.

Law enforcement seized a significant arsenal, including 33 firearms, among them assault weapons, an astounding 150,000 rounds of ammunition and 500 pounds of marijuana.

Authorities also confiscated approximately $20,000 in cash, underscoring the severity of the illegal operations at the site.

In a humanizing turn to the grim situation, authorities uncovered adult survivors at the site, more specifically, female adults who were pushed under forced labor.

Swiftly, these individuals were offered immediate assistance and informed about their rights, providing crucial support in a scenario where exploitation frequently renders victims voiceless and devoid of resources.

As a consequence of their alleged involvement, the five suspects now find themselves confronting multiple felony charges.

All suspects have been formally booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. Actions were taken to allow law enforcement to continue to address the aftermath of the crackdown on the illegal activities at the location.

The joint effort involving the SJPD METRO Unit, Human Trafficking Task Force and Violent Crimes Enforcement Team reflects the department’s dedication to putting an end to such illicit operations.

Despite efforts, the investigation is ongoing. Officer Steve Aponte of SJPD emphasizes the significance of public cooperation, stating that all citizens with information about these operations are encouraged to contribute to the investigation.

Aponte highlights the potential for cash rewards through the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers Program for tips leading to arrests. This underscores the collaborative and community-oriented approach to combating illegal activities.
