Illinois locals now have a second alternative to play one of the casinos’ most classic games.  While brick-and-mortar establishments will still allow casino fans to play Craps, a new option has been made available to all Northwest residents.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, the temporary Hard Rock casino in Rockford, Illinois, is set to unveil its first craps table for all Illinois residents. This strategic move aims to position the casino as a competitive enterprise in Illinois’ dynamic casino gaming market.

After an eight-month journey since the temporary casino in Rockford launched table games such as blackjack and roulette, Jeff Kolkey from the Rockford Register Star reveals this exciting development.

The forthcoming addition of craps to the gaming repertoire marks a significant enhancement of the casino’s current gaming selection.

The inclusion of the craps table will now take the count of game tables in the casino to a total of 10. The idea is for the new gaming sections to seamlessly blend with the existing floor selection.

Currently, the casino offers options such as Mini-Baccarat, Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Catering to enthusiasts in search of diverse options, the casino showcases over 600 slot machines and various titles to pick from.

The inclusion of craps aims to capture the attention and interest of new players, potentially drawing more visitors to the temporary facility.

This expansion stands as a significant step in a strategy to grow the casino offer in its temporary location. Expected to debut in August 2024, the Hard Rocks aims to have its new and permanent place.

Hard Rock’s strategic decision to introduce craps aligns with the landscape of Illinois casinos, especially when taking into account stats and gaming distribution. In October, for instance, craps emerged rated as the overall third gaming option with the highest revenue.

The decision to feature only one craps table is not a novelty. Approximately 11 out of the 15 casinos in the state provide just one or two craps tables. This offer correlates with the casinos’ reported high earnings.

While the Hard Rock in Rockford is classified as a mid-tier establishment, the addition of craps could prove to be a game-changer for the company.

In its inaugural month, over 45,000 guests visited the casino. With the introduction of craps, numbers could peak yet again as the Hard Rock in Rockford begins to potentiate its gaming strategy.
