Hard Rock Continues To Lead Indiana’s Casino Market in Revenue
Remaining steadfast as Indiana’s highest-earning casino, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana exhibits unwavering dominance in the state’s gaming landscape.
Recent data from the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) affirms Hard Rock’s continued supremacy, marking the 25th consecutive month where it surpassed all 11 other commercial casinos in terms of revenue after payouts to successful bettors.
In November, Hard Rock achieved a notable “win” of $37.2 million, showcasing a 5.1% increase compared to its earnings in November 2022, which amounted to $35.4 million, as reported by the IGC.
The Gary-based establishment contributed significantly to the state’s overall casino win, accounting for nearly 20% of the total of $190.8 million generated by all casinos in the eleventh month of 2023.
Matt Schuffert, President of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, characterized November as an “exciting month,” underscoring the venue’s continuous success in the competitive casino landscape.
Schuffert expressed enthusiasm about the sustained growth, attributing it to a robust entertainment calendar, the introduction of new gaming products and the appeal of seasonal food and beverage offerings. The continual year-over-year increase in volumes is a testament to the venue’s ongoing success.
Anticipating a strong finish to 2023, Schuffert highlighted an upcoming New Year’s Eve concert at the Hard Rock Café stage featuring Sugar Ray, emphasizing the excitement surrounding the event.
According to records, Hard Rock maintained its position as the state leader in slot machine play, reporting a total of $253.6 million in November.
This figure translated into a state-best win of $25.8 million, surpassing the November 2022 slot win of $23.3 million on $235.5 million in play.
In November, Gary’s casino led in table game play, notably in baccarat, with $48.6 million and claimed the top spot in table win at $11.4 million. Total wagers at Hard Rock’s tables surpassed those at three other NW Indiana casinos, totaling $40.6 million.
In contrast, Horseshoe Casino in Hammond ranked third with $22.8 million, down 11.3% from 2022. Ameristar Casino in East Chicago saw a 13.3% dip, reaching $13.1 million and Blue Chip Casino reported a $9.8 million win, down 3%.
Sports wagering in Indiana reached a record $513.7 million in November, showcasing the fervor for betting, despite neighboring states entering the arena.
Indiana collected $48.6 million in tax revenue from slot and table games and $2.9 million from settled sports wagers in November, per the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC).
