Fanatics Launches New Online Casino and Sportsbook in West Virginia
Betting and Gaming has officially launched its Fanatics Sportsbook in West Virginia, marking its presence in six states. The company announced the expansion of its online casino offerings with the pilot launch of Fanatics Casino in the same state.
This move signifies Fanatics’ commitment to providing a comprehensive gaming experience to enthusiasts in West Virginia, enhancing the options available for both sports betting and online casino gaming.
Fanatics Sportsbook has expanded its reach by going live in six states, including its recent launch in West Virginia.
The licensing in the Mountain State was secured through the acquisition of PointsBet’s North American assets by Fanatics Betting and Gaming. West Virginia was one of the first eight states handed over to Fanatics in September.
As per the details outlined in the Fanatics/PointsBet deal in June, PointsBet was obligated to start transferring its U.S. assets to Fanatics from September 1 at a rate of three states per month.
The initial set of states involved in the deal comprised Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
PointsBet will progressively grant access to three more states until all U.S. entities are under the ownership of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, expected to be completed by May 2024 at the latest.
PointsBet USA will continue its operations in states like Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, and New York until Fanatics Betting and Gaming finalize the acquisition of these states individually.
West Virginia marks the sixth state where Fanatics Sportsbook is now live, joining Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Tennessee.
In West Virginia, user data from PointsBet, including usernames, passwords, account balances, rewards points and responsible gaming settings, will be automatically migrated to the Fanatics Sportsbook.
Only in West Virginia, PointsBet users can download the Fanatics Sportsbook app and log in using the same email address and password from their old PointsBet account.
Fanatics Casino is also being introduced in West Virginia, making it the first state where users can access the new online casino embedded in the Fanatics Sportsbook app.
Fanatics Casino will offer various games, including roulette, slots, and blackjack, along with exclusive Fanatics-based casino games for Fanatics Sportsbook players. More online casino games are expected to be added in the future.
