Evolution Launches New Online Live Game Show, Lightning Storm

Gaming provider Evolution has unveiled its newest online live game show, Lightning Storm, which made its debut at ICE London 2024. Described by Chief Product Officer Todd Haushalter as their “biggest, most ambitious and technologically advanced game yet,” Lightning Storm represents the pinnacle of Evolution’s innovation in live game shows.

Lightning Storm is set in a dark laboratory and centers around a 39-segment DigiWheel, a 360-degree fully rotating HD gaming wheel acquired by Evolution three years ago. The live host spins this wheel, providing players with opportunities for instant cash wins or entry into one of five bonus games, each promising guaranteed multipliers. These bonus games include Fireball, Monster Mash, Hot Spot, Battery Charger, and the grand finale, Lightning Storm, where players can win up to 20,000 times their bet amount, marking it as Evolution’s most ambitious live game show to date.

Lightning Storm utilizes a variety of innovations introduced by Evolution’s live game show category. The company’s journey in this genre began with Dream Catcher in 2017, followed by the groundbreaking Lightning Roulette and the broader Lightning family of games, which were the first to blend live and RNG gameplay. These were succeeded by other popular shows like Crazy Time and Funky Time.

Now, players are immersed in a mad-scientist laboratory-style environment, where they participate in unusual experiments and challenges to chase multiplied winnings. The live host initiates the action by spinning the DigiWheel, giving players a chance to win instant cash rewards or access to one of the bonus games. Haushalter expressed his admiration for the game, highlighting the extensive development process and the talent involved in creating it. “Lightning Storm is by far our biggest, most ambitious, and technologically advanced game yet. This is our fifth generation of big wheel game shows and it incorporates learnings from all our prior game shows. Our DigiWheel hardware platform is a big part of the Lightning Storm fun, not to mention the unique blend of live action, RNG, and augmented reality,” he stated.

Last month, Evolution expanded its reach by bringing its live dealer online casino games to Delaware through a partnership with BetRivers. With Lightning Storm, Evolution continues to push the boundaries of live gaming.
