Carnival Cruises Taps Galaxy Gaming to Supply Its Cruises With Progressive Table Games
Cruise casinos within the Carnival Corporation, the world’s largest cruise operator, are transforming by introducing innovative table games.
Passengers aboard cruise ships will try their luck on slot machines. Carnival Cruise ships are enhancing their gaming areas with cutting-edge progressive table games from Galaxy Gaming.
Carnival’s vessels operating under the Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises recently announced a collaboration with Galaxy Gaming, Inc.
As part of this partnership, the Las Vegas-based gaming manufacturer will introduce progressive table games to the cruise ships’ casino spaces. The Galaxy Operating System, a comprehensive game management system, will also be implemented on the casino floors.
According to the company, this system represents a next-generation game management system that will enable cruise ships to connect the progressive tables. Moreover, the gaming management system will facilitate smoother table gameplay and progressive betting alternatives.
Marty Goldman, Carnival Corporation’s senior vice president of global casino operations, conveyed the company’s vision of delivering unparalleled joy through exceptional cruise vacations to millions of guests.
The Galaxy Operating System will be pivotal in enhancing the table game experience, elevating enjoyment, excitement, and rewards like never before.
Carnival Corporation representatives stated that the Galaxy Operating System will be rolled out across over 50 cruise ships.
Carnival Corporation was established in 2015 when the China Investment Corporation, the sovereign wealth fund of the People’s Republic of China, provided funding to China State Shipbuilding
Corporation to acquire the leading global cruise operator.
In addition to the previously mentioned brands, the corporation owns and operates AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, P&O Cruises and Seabourn.
Carnival Corp. reported revenue exceeding $12.1 billion last year.
Most Carnival-operated cruise ships offer casino gaming once they enter international waters. 27 Carnival-branded cruise ships currently feature onboard casinos with slot machines, tables and sports betting.
Carnival casinos feature slots from top gaming manufacturers such as IGT, Bally and Aruze. Popular titles include Wheel of Fortune, 88 Fortunes, Sphinx 3D, Bags of Cash and 999.9 Gold Wheel Legend.
The addition of Galaxy’s table games will grant players access to games like the company’s patented “21+3” table, a progressive blackjack with a three-card side bet.
Galaxy also offers progressive table games for poker, baccarat, craps, pai gow and roulette.
Casinos on cruise ships represent a significant source of onboard revenue for cruise lines. The gaming areas on Carnival Cruise ships typically offer between 100 to 500 slot machines and up to a dozen table games, contributing extra income to the cruises as gambling is not included in the all-inclusive packages.
The casino gaming sector aboard significant cruise lines adheres to regulations established by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
This industry trade association bases its gaming guidelines on protocols set by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and other state gaming regulators in the US and UK. CLIA members include Carnival Corporation, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and Virgin.
