Caesars Virginia Casino set to break new ground when it opens in 2024
Caesars Virginia Casino could contribute as much as $38million in tax revenues when it opens up in 2024, according to reports.
Currently, Caesars has a casino in Danville, Virginia, but this is only a temporary base. That said, when it had its official unveiling in mid-May of this year, it made approximately $12million in gaming revenues in the first two weeks of operation.
As things stand, Caesars are still on schedule to complete their casino resort project, and construction is being carried out by the venerable contractor Whiting-Turner.
Yes, Whiting-Turner has a proven track record when it comes to developing gambling venues, and it was responsible for working on Horshoe Baltimore, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, as well as a host of other casinos.
Once the permanent casino opens in Virginia, the Danville facility will then be rented out.
The new resort is a significant undertaking as around $650m has been pumped into it, and the resort will feature a hotel along with 500 rooms.
In terms of the casino side of things, there will be more than 1,400 slot machines, 85 live table games, 24 electronic table games, a WSOP (World Series of Poker) room, and an in-house sportsbook.
This will be a vast gaming resort covering over 40,000 square feet, and there will be plenty of restaurants and bars for guests to wine and dine at.
The new Caesars Virginia casino is making smooth progress, and that includes the building of the casino basement as well as car parking lots for customers.
Caesars Virginia General Manager Chris Albrecht also gave an update about staffing plans.
He said: “Right now, we are posting and filling positions for the temporary facility.
“All these positions will move over to the full resort.”
It is thought that as many as 1,300 people could be recruited when the new Caesars casino launches in Virginia, and it will be fascinating to see how things unfold over the next 12 months.
