In collaboration with Bet365 in Ontario, Bragg Gaming Group has introduced Matevž Mazij as one of its corporate leads. More specifically, Mazij will assume the CEO role as he continues as its board of directors chairman.

This transition will take effect immediately. That means Mazij will assume Yaniv Sherman’s role without delays or a transition period. Aside from holding the top spot on Bragg Gaming’s board, Mazij is the company’s largest stakeholder.

Furthermore, Mazij founded Oryx Gaming, the original PAM, and the company Bragg acquired back in 2018. The Gaming Group saw potential in Oryx and RSG Gaming Platform as solid partners to enhance the organization’s already advanced tech gaming platform.

Concurrently, Yaniv Sherman is stepping down from his role. According to company administration, this was a move executed following an assessment of Bragg Gaming’s board. The decision to appoint a new CEO was prioritized and thus aimed at ensuring the optimal alignment of the company’s interests with those of its stakeholders.

Holly Gagnon, the Lead Independent Director of Bragg’s board, commented on the leadership transition. Gagnon started by extending his gratitude to Sherman for his outstanding leadership and contributions while holding the leadership role at the company.

Gagnon also assured that the board will continue providing support and aligning with Bragg Gaming’s senior management in pursuing profitable growth-oriented initiatives. She expressed confidence in Mazij and the new CEO’s industry experience.

Other board members added that Mazik became an obvious alternative to replace Sherman, given his deep and extensive familiarity with Bragg’s operations. The latter put the former Oryx CEO in a position to be trusted by board members to drive growth and create shareholder value in his new role.

Mazij, who has served on the company’s board for several years, expressed his enthusiasm about returning to an operational role. The new CEO has vowed to lead Bragg towards sustained top-line growth and cash flow.

Recognizing the vast potential for expansion across North America, Europe, and globally regulated iGaming markets, Mazij is now committed to bringing fresh perspectives to the company. The new CEO will support Bragg’s senior management and team members.

In recent developments, Bragg successfully launched its games with Unibet in the United Kingdom. This follows a series of similar launches with FanDuel in Michigan and Connecticut. These strategic initiatives outline Bragg Gaming’s commitment to expanding its presence and offerings in the competitive iGaming landscape.
