BetMGM Signs Exclusive Deal for Evolution’s Latest Live Casino Game Show
BetMGM has forged a strategic partnership with industry-leading game developer Evolution to exclusively launch their latest live casino game show, Lightning Storm, on the BetMGM platform in Ontario. This marks a pivotal moment for both companies, with Evolution CEO Martin Carlesund describing the game as the company’s most impressive creation yet.
Transporting players into a captivating, laboratory-themed environment, Lightning Storm offers an immersive and thrilling gaming experience. The game’s core mechanic revolves around a spinning money wheel divided into 39 segments, each holding the promise of different prizes and additional bonuses. BetMGM’s Ontario-based clientele will have the exclusive opportunity to be the first to wager on this innovative game.
Oliver Bartlett, Vice President of Gaming Product & Content at BetMGM, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the partnership. He highlighted the importance of live dealer gaming to BetMGM’s igaming strategy and emphasized how Lightning Storm flawlessly blends the “social aspect of live dealers with the excitement of a game show,” all while capitalizing on the popularity of the Lightning game series.
Bartlett also commended Evolution’s unparalleled reputation in the live dealer sector and expressed BetMGM’s honor in being the exclusive platform for the launch of their most ambitious game yet.
Carlesund, during Evolution’s Q2 financial update, showered praise on Lightning Storm. Despite a slight delay in its release, he expressed unwavering commitment to perfection, emphasizing that the game represents the culmination of extensive development and learning from previous successes. He expressed anticipation for players to experience the game in the coming months.
Evolution’s Q2 report revealed a significant impact on revenue growth due to an unprecedented $38 million payout on their flagship game, Crazy Time. This record-breaking payout, benefiting over 5,000 players, was described by Carlesund as a testament to the game’s popularity. Despite this, the company reported strong overall performance, with operating revenues climbing 15.3% to $551.9 million and EBITDA increasing by 10.9% to $375.4 million.
The live casino segment continued to demonstrate robust growth, with revenue surging 18% year-on-year. Evolution’s portfolio of live casino titles, including recent releases like Balloon Race Live, Lightning Dragon Tiger Live, and Lightning Sic Bo Live, contributed significantly to this growth.
The collaboration between BetMGM and Evolution underscores the increasing significance of live casino experiences in the online gambling landscape. As technology advances, players demand more immersive and engaging forms of entertainment, and this partnership exemplifies the industry’s response to these evolving preferences.
