Rhode Island is poised to enter the online casino scene with a licensed real-money app from Bally’s, set for a “technical launch” on Friday for a limited audience and a public launch on March 5.

Bally’s will be the exclusive player in the Rhode Island online casino market, presenting a comprehensive app featuring essential elements desired by players, including various online slot titles, promotions, a rewards program and live dealer games.

The platform emphasizes responsible gaming tools and offers diverse funding options for player accounts, with potential integrations with the two land-based Bally’s casinos in Rhode Island in the future.

Online casino games for real money are legal in eight states, with Nevada exclusively offering online poker.

Rhode Island joined this group in June 2023, and the new law mandated a launch date of March 1 for its online casino app. This extension of the partnership between the Rhode Island Lottery and Bally’s marked a significant expansion.

In contrast to most markets with multiple options, Bally’s, having managed Rhode Island’s two physical casinos on behalf of the lottery, will be the sole legal online casino app in the state.

The app is set to be accessible to some users starting March 1, albeit with initial limitations during the early days.

RIDOR confirmed that Bally’s online casino will have a limited launch on March 1, featuring access to live dealer games like blackjack for a minimum of 7 hours daily and 24/7 availability of slots.

Bally’s collaboration with Stakelogic for live dealer games has gained state approval, with preparations ongoing for the studio and technology.

Stakeholders plan to introduce live dealer games shortly after the app launch. Bally’s app is set to offer a diverse selection of online slots for Rhode Islanders, featuring user-friendly navigation and potential incentives for exploration.

While specific details about promotions and game titles for Rhode Island are pending confirmation, similarities with existing markets are expected.

In New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Bally’s online casino offers regular promotions, allowing players to earn bonus spins and participate in daily designated slot games.

Users in these states also enjoy Bally’s player rewards program, accumulating Bally Bucks with each play for additional winnings. The extension of these rewards to physical casinos in Rhode Island remains uncertain.

The user-friendly online experience suggests that Rhode Islanders can quickly engage with Bally’s offerings and potentially access rewards, especially if integration with physical casinos occurs in the future.

Bally’s will provide apps for Android and iOS users, ensuring a simple download process. Registration, crucial for legal compliance, involves specific identifying information but remains uncomplicated.

After registration, users can deposit funds using various methods, gaining access to a diverse range of gameplay options upon confirmation. Rhode Island foresees substantial benefits, with estimated tax revenue exceeding $220 million in the first five years.

The app prioritizes responsible gambling, offering tools for spending and time limits. It guides users to additional resources and includes a self-assessment tool. Some Rhode Island residents can start using the platform on Friday.
