Bally’s Becomes Eighth Member of the Responsible Online Gaming Association
Bally’s Corporation has officially become the Responsible Online Gaming Association’s (ROGA) eighth founding member, reinforcing its commitment to promoting responsible gaming.
This strategic move aligns Bally’s with other key industry players such as bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, FanDuel, Hard Rock Digital and PENN Entertainment, all of whom are dedicated to fostering a safe and enjoyable online gaming environment.
ROGA was established to advance responsible online gaming through several key initiatives. These include funding independent peer-reviewed research, developing evidence-based responsible gaming best practices, and driving consumer education and awareness.
The organization is led by Dr. Jennifer Shatley, an expert in responsible gambling. Dr. Shatley holds multiple significant positions: she is the Executive Director of ROGA, President of the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling, a member of the National Council on Problem Gambling, and Co-Chair of the Compliance Review Board for the American Gaming Association’s Responsible Marketing Code for Sports Wagering.
Dr. Shatley expressed her enthusiasm about Bally’s joining ROGA, highlighting the importance of industry collaboration to maintain the entertainment and fun aspects of online gaming. She underscored the critical period of growth in legalized mobile gaming and emphasized the need for widespread education on responsible gaming during this evolution.
Robeson Reeves, CEO of Bally’s, echoed these sentiments, stressing Bally’s unwavering commitment to responsible gaming. Reeves emphasized Bally’s intention to work closely with ROGA to enhance responsible gaming initiatives, fund research, develop best practices, and educate consumers.
ROGA is on a mission to lead the way as mobile gaming continues to evolve. The association and its members are dedicated to enhancing consumer protection and ensuring efficient access to responsible gaming tools.
To support this mission, ROGA has allocated more than $20 million towards its initiatives, which are structured around five core pillars: research, consumer and industry education and awareness, promoting best practices, establishing an independent data clearinghouse, and creating an independent certification program.
Bally’s Corporation’s recent activities reflect its robust growth and strategic expansion. The company owns and operates 15 casinos across 10 states and holds online sports betting licenses in 18 states. In addition, Bally’s owns Bally’s Interactive International (formerly known as Gamesys Group), Bally Bet, and Bally Casino.
Recently, Bally’s partnered with Ruby Seven Studios to launch Bally Play, a free-to-play online social casino. The company reported a 3.3% increase in revenue, reaching $618.5 million in the first quarter of 2024. Notably, Bally’s North American segment exhibited a significant 70% year-on-year growth, generating $41.5 million.
