Old Vegas Hospitality: Circa Resort-Casino Set To Finally Open Ahead Of Schedule
Circa Resort and Casino has been trending on social media for a while now and with good reasons. It’s the first-ever casino constructed from scratch in downtown Las Vegas in the past 40 years, and they’re also opening ahead of schedule.
Derek Stevens, the CEO, and developer of Circa Resort and Casino, initially hinted that it would open on October 28th, 2020. The resort was previously slated to open its doors around Dec 2020. The resort’s opening couldn’t have come at a better time now that millions are out of work.
Initially, there was uncertainty surrounding the Circa resort opening due to Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the Las Vegas Governor Stephen S. Sisolak. The restriction was, however, removed, and this meant that everything would go on as planned. This is evidenced by the fact that the Nevada Gaming Control Board on Wednesday (September 23rd ), gave the project the go-ahead.
The October 28th launch will introduce an additional 1.25 million-square-feet resort-casino featuring five floors of amenities. This property is set to have the world’s largest sportsbook and longest indoor bar. With over 1000 seasoned employees going the extra mile to deliver world-class service, Derek expresses his concerns regarding hiring enough employees for the new resort.
From our perspective, that was a big concern. How many people have left Las Vegas? I’m aware a lot of people have left Las Vegas.
Despite this, Circa has successfully managed to recruit 1,100 workers, including cocktail servers and lifeguards, by mid-September. This isn’t enough since their goal is to reach 1,500 employees.
Features And Attractions
Patrons have lots of features to look forward to when they visit. This includes 777 rooms, six temperature regulated pools, a two-story casino, the country’s largest pool amphitheaters, the world’s largest sportsbook, and comprehensive contactless technology and service.
Itelity provides the resort with contactless technology. This company specializes in the production of contactless technology used explicitly in the hospitality industry. At check-in, guests will be provided with a 10-inch tablet that supports contactless service. This will offer them digital control over their room and beyond.
Digital control means that guests can skip the trip to the front desk for check-in, order in-room dining, make reservations, stream music, and much more during their stay.
Additionally, Circa will feature exciting, unique, and original restaurant concepts such as:
- Carolina barbecue at Project BBQ.
- Premium steaks and seafood over at Barry’s Downtown Prime from legendary Chef Barry S. Dakake
- All-star menus by Victory Burger & Wings Co.
- Delicatessen fare at Saginaw Delicatessen from seasoned restaurateurs- Paul Saginaw
Guests will also experience enhanced transportation via Garage Mahal; the first-ever fully integrated ridesharing hub concept specifically designed for the new resort-casino. The system incorporates high-tech design and thoughtful features meant to make transportation and parking easy. Undoubtedly, the most Instagrammable feature hosted by Circa will be the neon cowgirl. She’ll be located indoors at Circa’s Vegas Vickie’s bar and will be perfect for those wishing to snap quick memorabilia.
Interestingly, Circa is making history by being the first adults-only resort-casino in Las Vegas. This is what Stevens calls “old Vegas hospitality.” He says, “When people fly to Vegas, they don’t want to have a crying baby next to them. This doesn’t mean they don’t like kids; it’s just not what they are looking forward to.”
Stevens expects the city to bounce back once the pandemic is controlled. “We’ve seen that more and more people are coming to Vegas,” he said. If everything goes as per his expectations, the Circa resort and casino will provide a leeway to a bigger and brighter tomorrow.
