Starting from August 1, the situation for casinos may change dramatically. It seems like Rank Group is actively preparing for these changes. Obviously, due to the fight against the coronavirus, the UK government has been forced to close all land-based gambling establishments since March. Nevertheless, because of the gradual resumption of economic activity in the country, the turn came to gambling operators waiting for this moment like a desert missed the rain.

The gratifying and long-awaited news from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the restrictions lowering has breathed life into Rank Group. The fact is that the operator has more than 40 land-based points of the Grosvenor Casino brand. That is why the whole next week will drag on painfully for the operator in anticipation of the fateful moment.

As stated by the Rank Group management, all 44 establishments will gradually open from August 1, according to a pre-developed plan. This will allow the operator to get to its feet after a long break. It is also worth noting that it concerns the gambling establishments exclusively in England. In other words, the casinos located in Wales and Scotland will remain closed shortly. All this was the result of restrictive measures by the government, which rightly believed that gambling operators would not be able to properly ensure their customers’ safety and staff from the coronavirus.

However, the restrictive measures pose a significant threat to the gaming operator. It will face a substantial loss of revenue in the UK. The same goes for the staff, who have been in the dark for a long time and still do not have a clear answer when the casino activity can resume. Unlike 2019, the employees can face a long economic free fall.

Meanwhile, given the fact that some of the restrictions will be lifted shortly, and this gives hope that the gaming operator will be able to return to its operational activities. Rank Group management also stated that it is ready to provide all necessary assistance to ensure full compliance with government regulations and standards in health care.

The health and safety of customers and company personnel is a top priority for the brand.

That is why the operator will use all its experience and strength to create a familiar atmosphere of hospitality. The company also pledged to comply with all necessary measures to prevent an outbreak of coronavirus infection.

As for the customers of the gambling establishment, they will be required to use hand sanitizers. The gambling establishment will also deal with the disinfection of tables, chips, and slot machines. If necessary, the operator will also provide protective masks for each visitor. Moreover, the platform plans to install dividers between the gaming tables and slot machines to provide the necessary distance for each client’s safety.

The good news is that the operator will continue to accept cash. However, other casinos prefer customers to make cashless payments.

Anyway, the rules for visiting newly opened casinos will be changed. Without a doubt, a list of sanitary and epidemiological standards will be added to them. Visitors will also have to maintain a social distance. Guests and casino staff must use disinfectants both before and during the game. The social distance must be at least two meters, both for slot machines and at the gambling tables.

Recall that under the new rules, every foreign citizen who arrives in the UK is required to undergo a two-week quarantine. As a result, casinos can lose a significant part of customers who do not want to wait two weeks for observation.
