ICE London & iGB Affiliate London Won’t Take Place in 2021
Potential visitors, speakers, and exhibitors of two major events in the world of the gambling industry will have to wait one more year for them. ICE London and iGB Affiliate London have announced that they postpone their events to 2022. The new dates to mark in your calendars are 1-3 February 2022 for ICE London and 3-5 February for iGB Affiliate London.
The decision to put off the events until (hopefully) better times was made after the organizers received numerous requests to do so from their partners. Both events will take place at ExCel London, an exhibition and convention center in the UK capital’s Docklands.
Both the ICE London and iGB Affiliate London brands have been successful because they have consistently worked with, and listened to, the needs of their respective customers. Exhibitors have expressed a desire to put the experiences of the last 12 months behind them and instead focus their collective energy and creativity into making the 2022 editions into memorable in-person celebrations.
Andrew Ludlow, Managing Director of gaming technology provider, NRM Group, backed this comment and praised the decision to postpone the events: “I’m pleased that we have this clarity and can instead plan for ICE London ’22 when the immunisation programmes will have taken place, travel will not be such an issue and the world will be a lot safer and a lot calmer. This is a pragmatic and sensible response from the organisers.”
Stuart Hunter concluded: “We are totally focused on helping all sectors of the industry bounce back from what has been a horrendous year. ICE London and sister event iGB Affiliate London both stand shoulder to shoulder with their communities and the team is ready and primed to help our loyal stakeholders wherever they are and in any way possible.
For now, things seem dire in the UK, thanks to the new, more deadly coronavirus strain and a surge in daily new cases in December last year that prompted the authorities to impose another lockdown right after Christmas Day.
To make matters worse, according to research done by the University of Warwick, even widespread vaccination may not be enough to allow the country to return to the pre-pandemic normal within a year. Researchers cited the mutated COVID-19 strain, alongside a significant number of people who can’t or will refuse to get the vaccine, as the main reasons.
So, we will have to wait and see whether ICE London and iGB Affiliate London will be allowed to take place next year – for now, there is no guarantee that event venues like ExCel London will get the green light to keep their doors open in 2022.
ICE London is a part of the ICE brand that spans four continents: Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa. The event welcomes top solution providers and gambling operators under one roof to discuss the future of gambling and, of course, help them connect. Roughly half of the attendees represent online gambling businesses (51% in 2019).
iGB Affiliate London is a world-renowned event that brings together online gambling businesses and affiliate marketers to meet, connect, and learn. The event combines the exhibition and conference formats. In 2020, iGB Affiliate London’s exhibitors included BetWay, PokerStars, and VirginBet.
Another iGB Affiliate event is set to take place in Amsterdam later this year, from September 28 to October 1, simultaneously with iGB Live! under one free-of-charge registration.
