GiG Benefits from Revenues While Tipwin a Better Casino Offering in the New Partnership
A global provider of iGaming technology and other products, GiG, has partnered with Tipwin for at least three years. The Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) will be powering Tipwin’s new online casino offering, which will be operating under the license of Swedish and Maltese Gaming Authorities.
Tipwin is expected to launch a casino in the last quarter of 2020, whereby GiG will be responsible for offering its Logic, data platform, and GiG’s platform. The GiG will mutually benefit as it is expected to get a revenue share from 2021 onwards from what Tipwin will make from the casino platform.
Partnering with GiG in the area of casino technologies will complete our online products and help to offer an unmatched 360 degree online, and retail product portfolio to our customers and partners.
Richard Brown, Chief Executive Officer of GiG, added by saying, “We are delighted to have partnered with Tipwin for the provision of our iGaming platform and casino offers. Tipwin has been a successful retail sportsbook operator for over 9 years and we look forward to supporting them in their expansion into the online casino space. We see strong potential in linking up with a brand with a large existing retail customer base and anticipate further growth in the number of casino customers in the German market post-regulation in 2021, therefore partnering with an existing retail offering will enable further capture of the expected transition of customers from land-based to online gaming”.
Tipwin is a known sportsbook in the German market, with many retail shops and sponsorship relations with German soccer teams, including the Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt. This makes it a valuable and recognized brand in Germany. The bookmaker will be integrating the technology from GiG’s into its online casino prior to Germany legalizing online sports betting and casino in 2021. But, it’s not yet clear whether the Tipwin will launch the casino in late 2020. At this time, iGaming operators will be allowed to offer online poker, slots, and sports betting as per the regulatory transition period. While at it, the gaming operators will have to follow the guidelines and regulations in the Glücksspielneuregulierungstaatsvertrag (GlüNeuRStV) that will become official regulation from July 2021.
Gaming operators offering poker, online slots, and sports betting will continue to provide their products in the jurisdiction as long as they follow the guidelines in the GlüneuRStV by 15 October. One of the restrictions on the GlüneuRStV is to offer in-play sports betting on final results and the next goalscorer type of bets. Also, the stake limit for online slots will be €1, where each player will be limited to spending below €1,000 per month. However, some customers may be subject to this amount been raised to between €10,000 and €30,000.
